Motorcycles

The highlight for cyclists is probably Motorcycle Week when all shapes and sizes of bikers converge on Weirs Beach. This is the oldest rally of its kind in America. It started in 1916 when motorcycling was in its infancy as a sport.

Much of New Hampshire, particularly the Lakes region, is taken over by motorcycles each June. Don't be surprized if lodging is sold out for that week. In 2004, they hit an all time high for attendance - 375,000! Thats a lot of bikes!

There is no helmet law in New Hampshire which many love for about four months of the year. They seem to take the slogan "Live Free or Die" literally.
